I’ve a couple of questions about this setup.

a. Since all ports on Dell switch side are just trunk ports towards the server (not treated as an aggregate logical interface) I think that all BUM traffic send from any host (physical or VM) would return back to the same Hybrid Switch. Is there anything that would prevent that from happening?

b. Do we need to implement any STP variation for loop prevention towards the ports connected to HCI servers, as a fail safe measure? How the network could be protected against malfunction in the Hyper-V SET setup?

Hello,

The configuration depends on the core switch configuration. Usually you just have to set the trunk mode, the teaming mode and the spanning tree configuration. For S2D, I leave this configuration to customers because they know better than I their configurations.

These commands come from Dell. They recommend to set these options for S2D deployment.
